Theory of materials & production
Identify and characterize materials, techniques, processes and technologies used in jewellery manufacturing.
Creative project development
Define and use themes, implementing a methodical research plan; explore form, developing concepts of three-dimensionality, ergonomics, relationship with the body.
Evaluate, select and plan the materials and production techniques to be used, including stones, types of setting, alloys, measures, weights, execution times and steps, etc.
Use CAD as a tool for creativity, productivity, precision and cost reduction.
Critically analyze results.
Jewellery making techniques
Master the fundamental processes and techniques of jewelry making, namely sawing, filing, sanding, casting, soldering, fixing and polishing, including various types of finishes;
Execute advanced processes and techniques in wax and precious metals related to traditional classical jewelry-making, including settings, mechanisms and clasps.
Produce original pieces of high-jewellery, using precious metals and stones.
Gemology
Identify and characterize diamonds and the main coloured gemstones used in jewellery, through observation.
Getting to know the market: main fairs, buying and selling considerations.
