About this workshop:
The use of crochet in jewelry opens the way to forms of aesthetic expression of great beauty and originality. It can be used to integrate in jewelry pieces elements worked in non-metallic wire (e.g., cotton, silk, linen, raffia), or using crochet techniques in metallic wire, such as silver or copper. The techniques in non-metallic and metallic wire are similar, sharing the basic logic, but have some differences that are necessary to know and master.
No requirements or experience required.
Objectives:
Acquisition of basic technical skills in crochet using non-metallic and metallic wire.
Who is it for:
All interested individuals with no knowledge or only rudimentary knowledge of crochet who wish to apply the techniques learned in creative contexts.
Programme:
1st day (morning 9:30-13:00)
Introduction to classic crochet
How to make cord
How to make a "chopstick”
How to make a “low and half-stitch”
How to start a circular or polygonal work
How to make a rosette
My first rosette!
Choice of work to develop during the week; advice on the choice
2nd day (9:30-13:00 + 14:00-18:00)
Presentation and analysis of the work done by the participants
Introduction to classic crochet (continued)
How to start a rectangular or square flat work
How to make a tube
How to make a spiral and a basic flower
Introduction to metal wire crochet
Guided tour on metal crochet techniques
Key similarities and differences between classic crochet techniques and metal crochet
How to make cord
How to make three basic stitches in metal wire
Inclusion of perforated elements in crochet
Introduction to metal wire crochet (finishing the introduction to elementary techniques)
How to start a circular or polygonal work
How to make a tube
How to make a spiral and a basic flower
Presentation of types of candidate work to be done
Creative project
Mín./máximum students: 7/10
Certificate:
For students with at least 80% of sessions attendance.
Price includes insurance and materials.
VAT free course.
Participant keeps the pieces produced.
